Description
16 Surahs – A Collection of Sixteen Surah From Quranul Kareem – PANJSURAH
The Panj Surah is well known in the Indo/Pak Subcontinent as a Collection of distinguished Surah’s from the Qur’an. The Prophet (SAW) has mentioned many virtues of reciting certain Surah’s of the Qur’an. The selection varies according to the understanding of the scholars, the word Panj means five, so perhaps the original selection consisted of five main Surahs however through time the selection has probably increased to include 16 Surah’s which have been given a special attention in the Ahadith of the Prophet of Islam.
Prophet (S.A.W.) said: Whosoever recites Surah Yasin in the early part of the day his needs will be fulfilled. (Mishkaat)
‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abbas (radhiallahu anho) narrates that the Prophet Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) said: The Surah Al-Zilzal is equal to the half of the Holy Qur’an, the Surah Al-Ikhlas is equal to the one third of the Holy Qur’an and the Surah Al-Kafiroon is equal to the one fourth of the Holy Qur’an.
